Accenture has deepened its partnership with Palantir, a leading data analytics software firm, with the creation of a new innovation center.
Accenture Applied Intelligence – the consulting firm’s practice focusing on scaling enterprise AI, analytics, and automation – will work with Palantir to build an innovation center for Palantir Foundry, a central operating system that fuses large amounts of data from financial, operational, and technical systems and then delivers intuitive end-user interfaces that optimize enterprise decision-making.
Foundry software is currently deployed in more than 40 countries and is used by companies such as Merck, Airbus, and Ferrari.
The new Accenture Palantir Studio will house over 1,000 Foundry experts who will “build and design new cutting edge solutions,” according to a Palantir blog post. Accenture currently has nearly 700,000 employees in 50 countries.
“This alliance with Palantir will enhance how we integrate disparate datasets, ensure high data quality and richness, and apply new AI techniques to solve big problems — helping our clients get better insights and decisioning capabilities,” said Sanjeev Vohra, global lead, Accenture Applied Intelligence.
Palantir was co-founded by Peter Thiel in 2003 and has grown to more than $1.54 billion in annual revenue and over 2,700 employees. The Denver-headquartered public company’s other notable product is Palantir Gotham, which caters to government clients and is an outgrowth of its work with the US intelligence community. The operating system has been used in predictive policing applications, which leverage analytics to identify potential criminal activity, including terrorist attacks.
Consulting firm AlixPartners last year entered a strategic partnership with Palantir to help corporate clients implement the Palantir Foundry platform.
