The University of Tennessee Medical Center (UTMC) has selected Lynnette Clinton, MBA, CHCIO, CDH-E as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO)—leading all information technology efforts within the health system.
Clinton joins the medical center with over 25 years of experience within the healthcare industry, most recently serving as Vice President, Applications and Interim CIO with BayCare Health System in Clearwater, Fl.
“We are thrilled to welcome Lynnette to our team,” said Benjamin Cunningham, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at The University of Tennessee Medical Center. “Lynnette will provide our organization with expertise and leadership across information technology functions—enhancing and further enabling our ability to maintain secure, efficient technology infrastructure and systems for our team members and for our patients. Lynnette comes to us with the right blend of soft skills and technical skills necessary to lead our team in this space.”
Clinton has led and managed major projects in ERP replacement, Cerner RevElate Revenue Cycle, Cerner Radiology Information System and the BayCare mobile applications. In addition to her experience at BayCare Health System, Clinton has previously served in roles with Lehigh Valley Health Network and Phoebe Services. Clinton specializes in strategic planning and complex implementations.

Clinton holds an Associate Degree in Computer Science with business concentration from Penn State University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems from Albright College and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from The University of Tampa. Clinton has also earned a Certified Healthcare CIO (CHCIO) designation, as well as Certified Digital Health Executive (CDH-E).
