AACR Cancer Progress Report 2022: Discovery Science Driving Clinical Breakthroughs

Please join the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) for a briefing on Wednesday, September 21 (12 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. ET) at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. to release the AACR Cancer Progress Report (CPR) 2022: Discovery Science Driving Clinical Breakthroughs. This 12th edition of the AACR CPR follows President Biden’s decision to reignite the Cancer Moonshot, which leverages a whole-of-government approach to increase access to cancer screenings, address disparities, and improve the experience of people and their families living with cancer.

The CPR is a cornerstone of the efforts of the AACR to educate policymakers and the broader public about cancer, highlight the remarkable progress we are making against cancer, and advocate for robust, sustained, and predictable annual funding increases for the NIH, NCI, FDA, and CDC. Specifically, the report underscores how recent advances across the clinical cancer care continuum, in particular immunotherapy and molecularly-targeted therapies, are helping cancer patients and their loved ones. This year’s report also focuses on the ways we are addressing the needs of the rapidly expanding population of cancer survivors, as well as the disparities that unfortunately still continue to exist in certain populations.

Participants will include AACR President Lisa M. Coussens, PhD, FAACR, AACR CEO Margaret Foti, PhD, MD (hc), and AACR Board Member John D. Carpten, PhD, FAACR, as well as cancer survivors and members of Congress who are featured in the report.

This briefing will also be available for live stream viewing.
